Is it a projection? An indoor greenhouse? The work creates suspense and provokes curiosity, as nobody really knows what he or she is looking at.
BOTANIC WALL is a series of custom light walls designed for Mexican restaurant Popocatepetl in the Netherlands as part of their new identity. The installation stretches out over the entire width of a wall. Resembling wall-sized window, it creates the illusion of a jungle behind it. Not only does Botanic Wall employ an optical trick, expanding the small space it’s situated in, it also creates mystical scenery. The lights change through real-time programming. Over the course of a meal, day flows into night, lines between the real and the fake blur and moods shift.
REM Atelier has used PyraSied's light diffusers of extruded acrylic from the PyraLed diffuser collection for the Botanic Walls. The PyraLed collection consists of light diffusers that offers an optimal balance between light transmissions and diffusivity (the spreading of light without being distractingly visible). The light diffusers from PyraSied are of a very high quality because of the use of nanotechnology, precise control of manufacturing processes and the best additives and raw materials.
