Eindhoven, May 2020 - Set to be launched at Isola Design District during the Salone del Mobile in April, Wisse Trooster now launches his Circular wall lamp collection at the ‘Isola Goes Digital’ event from the 16th of June. There's still the impression that, for a high-end design, choices have to be made between sustainability and aesthetics. Trooster designed the Circular wall lamp without any concessions, showing the beauty of recycled materials.
Recycled materials are giving the wall lamp its frivolous and elegant appearance. Trooster selected sustainable acrylics and sheet material made from recycled plastic, such as plastic cutting boards, from the sustainable material collection of PyraSied. The discs are combined with LED filament light tubes. The Circular wall lamp can completely be dismantled and the components can be reused or recycled. Starting with the Circular wall lamp, Trooster will further expand the Circular collection with other fixtures and other recycled materials.
From the 16 of June, the Circular wall lamp collection will be present on Isola Goes Digital, both on a dedicated page for the designer as well as in the Isola Virtual Exhibition: a group show in a 3D environment with 3D projects to discover and explore from laptops, tablets or smartphones. On the platform, Trooster is joined by other Dutch designers and Dutch design labels such as; Rive Roshan, Cohors with their Trouvé table lamp, and Cooloo Coatings with sustainable outdoor furniture.
The designer
Wisse Trooster (1988) is a passionately curious designer from The Netherlands. Trooster works with a variety of materials and in multiple disciplines. He presented his Hands of Time clock, with a clock face made from a worn sanding disc from Design Academy Eindhoven, at gallery Rossana Orlandi in 2017 and is amongst the Interior Design Best of Year honourees of 2018 with his sustainable cardboard 900 LED pendant.
Isola Goes Digital
Isola Design District launches its new digital platform dedicated to young talents, emerging brands, and green projects. The cancellation of the 2020 edition of Salone del Mobile has created a gap that is difficult to fill this year. The organizers of Isola Design District have never stopped and in recent weeks have started a process of digitization of the event that they had been planning for a while. The aim is to highlight the designers of their community with new digital services. The new platform will be online in mid-June and will be launched together with a program of live streaming events from June 16 to 21, the same dates when Milan Design Week was supposed to be held this year. There will be 4 new sections on the website: Isola Design Community, Isola Design Magazine, Isola Digital District, Isola Virtual Locations.
Isola Digital District
A truly digital version of the Isola district redesigned to be easily usable, through an animated graphic interface that will engage users. With a simple click on a building or object, it will be possible to access a series of different types of content. Designers will be able to present their projects in preview within the virtual exhibitions, but also to organize product launches and sell their pieces online.
